Title.

I mixed from Saltwater using RODI and red Sea coral pro salt Tuesday morning. It's been sitting in a 5G bucket in my room. My house is pretty cold all day long and I keep my blinds closed all day. The bucket has had a lid on it all week.

I was using the saltwater to raise my salinity to 1.025

I don't think there will be an issue using it tomorrow for my weekly water change..?

I mix saltwater out of RODI water plus Reef Crystals. It is mixed and stored in a Brute trash can and they are food safe. I have a powerhead and heater in the trashcan. I mix up a fresh batch at every water change. I usually go 2 weeks between water changes and sometimes longer. Kept in a dark place in a food safe container with a powerhead, saltwater should keep a long time.

So.... Guess it'll be fine. I'll throw a power head in there for a couple minutes to get things going

I've been wondering this too. I recently read that the pH would deplete from stored salt water after about a week which is why I think I might be having issues maintaining pH. I only have a 20g tank, so I would keep one 5g jug of salt water about 2 weeks before I do a water change, and my pH always registers low. I just got a refill from my LFS and have decided to only do a water change with the water I get that weekend, to see if that helps.

I store saltwater unheated and still. It will keep for several weeks easily, assuming it is not a formula that contains vitamins and organics. Heating and stirring seems to cause the alkalinity to drop. So I just throw a powerhead and heater in before use these days, though I have used it straight out of stored containers before as well.

I basically keep about 30-50 gallons mixed up at all times. Since the OP mentioned RSCP salt, do not mix it while it's sitting. Just throw your powerhead (or mix it manually if you'd like) before you're ready to use it.

It will be fine I always for water mixed and sitting in my holding tank. You never know when you might need it in a hurry. Depending on the size of the tank a little cooler water will not be an issue at all.

As long as you keep the water moving with a powerhead just prior to using it, and it's somewhat sealed up so no outside contaminants can get into it (aerosols, bugs, dust ect...) it should be fine for quite a long time :)

That's probably my issue then. I usually heat it overnight and give it a good shake before the water change.

The only issue is, as mentioned if you keep it for more than a couple of weeks is that you can start getting nasty build up. I do a vinegar flush and clean out of my containers once in a while to help prevent this and try to keep the water in the container for only a few days as a precaution.

The only salts that may be problematic with storing for a long time are those that contain vitamins. I'm not sure why they add them, but their stability might not be the best in a wet form. I still wouldn't be overly concerned with long term "vitamin" water because I'm not convinced it does anything. Good carbon dosing for your bacteria!
