How long can i store ro water.

I have ro water in a 20l jerry can. How long can the ro water be used.
Jerry cans are normally made of metal. Not recommended as RODI water is very reactive.

If you mean a food grade plastic storage type container, you can store it pretty much forever.

Plastic cans made for gas/diesel storage, not recommended as they may leech some type of plasticizer

The jerry can is food safe plastic, thanks!

What is TDS. Still learning....
When we talk RODI, we are looking for a 0 TDS reading using a TDS meter, say $25.
Total Disolved Solids, (TDS) provides some insight into what’s in your, filtered or RODI water. When TDS starts increasing, this shows that filtration system components are getting used up ands may require replacement.
The whole point of RODI is the take out everything, good and bad, then only put back the good stuff (via your salt) and at the correct levels.
Once I make my water it starts with zero.
After a week it’s 7ppm, about 14ppm in two weeks.
Is that an issue, Nope. Not IMM.
That being said, I make only enough for each WC and ATO, just because it’s easy.

Ironically it's the other way around. Gas/diesel can only be stored in 100% hdpe (high density polyethylene) plastic without any plasticizers (it would dissolve), while foodgrade plastics may contain certain (not harmfull) plasticizers to make the plastic soft, like cling film or foldable jerrycans.
So a plastic gasoline jerrycan - which ofcourse never has been used for storing gas or oil - is fine.

Okay, I stand corrected :-)

I'd worry about RO in a Diesel container though, if it were anywhere near my garage. Could be expensive.

I don’t understand, how does TDS increase if 0 TDS RODI sits in a clean container?

This doesn’t make sense to me @Randy Holmes-Farley

That makes sense, I'd still prefer the same but white for potable water, no mistakes that way.
