Similar question to my othet thread. Basically, I have one large reservoir, and it would be easier for me to keep about 10-15 gallons of RODI water in sealed buckets (leaving my reservoir to keep saltwater mixing for water changes). Basically, I would mix up about 15 gallons of fresh top off water and store it in 5 gallon buckets. Then I'd mix my saltwater in my reservoir which would be used for weekly changes in the nanos and biweekly changes in the big tanks (once a month for each large tank). The routine would be: make and store 15 gallons of RODI for top off, make 30 gallons of fresh saltwater, use water for water changes (which will exhaust my reservoir every two weeks), start routine over with empty reservoir. Thoughts?

i don't. i just don't trust stored water unless it's air-tight.

then again, i *gasp*...don't top up daily. i top up once a week, a day or two before my water change.

Between my three tanks, I go through about 25g per week of topoff so storing it isn't an issue. Make 25g and pump that over into a Brute for mixing. Make another 25g in RODI Brute and use for topoff. I need a much larger reservoir and a much faster RODI unit.

The water would be stored in 5 gallon buckets with water tight (maybe air tight?) lids. I definitely don't think anything could get into the water (at least not anything atmospheric).

I have a brute container that I fill when empty so. Maybe once I week inhave to refill it

I have a 55g drum for top offs, filled at all times. It has a lid but its not air tight, no need to be if your using it from time to time. I have a powerhead running at all times in it.
