How long can you go without running your skimmer?

My pump went bad on my skimmer today. I was already on planning to buy one on the black friday sale at BRS due to needing a bigger size when I upgraded tanks a few weeks ago. Will I cause much harm if I waited the three weeks for a new skimmer?

Plenty of people don't use skimmers at all. just keep an eye on nutrients

I've gone about 3 weeks. Keep in mind some people don't use skimmers at all on reef tanks and have no problems.
