How long did your black boxes last?

Just curious.

I've had mine for a couple years now and I'm wondering how much longer they'll last. I know they aren't expected to last forever because they're cheap. I just got them to see if I wanted to stay in the hobby.

Have you guys had to do anything to keep them running for that long? Have you noticed if the spectrum is still the same as new? Also what brand are you guys using? I’m looking into buying mars thanks

Mine are mars. So far so good but I'm not testing anything. My corals are growing.

I set up several systems with BB over the past 5 years. I've seen 3 out of 16 dimmer switches fail. Nothing else has failed. No noticeable change in PAR but I have not tested with a spectrometer to check for spectral changes.

For my taste that is an excellent value for the price.
