Was wondering how long it took for some of your tanks to cycle? Also any tips as to how to speed this process up would be helpful.
Thanks

I never advise to speed things up.
there are a lot of people who use fish to do it but end up later not wanting the fish that survives the process.
in my past I always used live rock, not bleached and cured but straight from the waters.
there are risks with this though. Unwanted hitch hikers and algaes

If you have a had a previous tank use some of its live sand to seed your new, also filter media and liverock from old tank works well to start the cycle of beneficial bacteria, if you didn't have a previous tank then put up a WTB on forum or maybe even craigslist :)

I have tried . True Live rock ,MB7 , dead shrimp , Biodigest , Zeobak , Dr Tim's and it always takes almost 10+ days before I see 0 nitrite or nitrate +- 5ppm .
That being said even if i have nitrates forming there is little to no chance it may support a small med bio load . Like others have stated >>>If u r rushing trying to speed up a natural process ,then failure is a good possibility with livestock . Patience is the key ...
Good luck .

Im going on 3 weeks, I am pretty sure I had it running on June 28th. Still no fish yet, I havent tested in a few days but im thinking next weekend so thatll put it at a month...

Nvm it was July 1st so im going one 2.5 weeks. lol

While my tank was being built, I filled a garbage can with my dry rock, pump and saltwater. I added fish food and pure ammonia, it took maybe three weeks for everything to level out. I added more ammonia again, once the tank was here and all setup and it took another week to drop down to zero.

Mine will be up for one week this Saturday. i figured about a month till it's completely done. I'll keep testing.

I've always used Dr Tim's and it usually takes about a week to cycle. I've never had issues after due to the "quick cycle". It is one of the few things in this hobby that I feel is okay to not be patient with. I still add fish about one a month.
