How long do you expect your equipment to last?

I have now swapped to Tunze for their reliability and would hope to get at least 5 years out of them.

Same here. My maxspect gyres lost most of their flow so fast, I was cleaning every other week. The power cord also frayed in less than a year on two of them. They are now in a box with all my other "junk". While my Tunze Stream 3s are massive and unsightly, they require almost no maintenance and built like a tank!

I have the same eheim return pump for over 5 years now and the same with some of my nano-box led's.

I have an eheim that I ran for about 5 years too. Was running strong when I took it offline. It still is used for mixing salt. Great pump.

That looks like one of the old AquaClear powerheads. From before Hagan rebranded some of the Laguna pumps as "aquaclear" for aquarium use. Those things were bullet proof.

20 yr old 90 gal here. Never been resealed and it's only issue is glass scratches. It's the old 0.375" glass, no center brace Hagen and has 0.375" deflection at the center top LOL! Mag 12 return pump is 19yrs old, original impeller and shaft and still going strong. Even my sump is a repurposed home built tank I got from someone when I was 13 or 14 (38 now).

If it ain't broke, I don't fix it! ...equipment wise anyway...
