How long do you let your pvc "cure" before using it?

I need to add that I only use pvc cement directly out of the pump. On the supply lines I only use silicone. There is no pressure - psi - to be concerned with. I also make use where possible of threaded instead of slip fits. There I use silicone on the threads. I don't have any leak problems.

Im a licensed plumber only CPVC is truly potable water safe regular pvc can leach thats why it is used primarily as drainage I know in alot of states pvc is legal on potable water but not truly safe either is ABS IMO

All these guys waiting two days what the heck lol. When a plumber fixes a line we drink the water in a matter of hours not days mind you. Going over board.

Thank you Stylaster 24 hours sound good to me but maybe I'll wait 48 just in case.

And about the curing time, I only used that word because on their website there is a guideline for curing time, here is an excerpt from the document:

Set Up/ Curing Times
The set up/cure time is dependent on several factors. The pipe size,
socket fit, ambient temperature, relative humidity, solvent cement
used and the system operating pressure should all be considered
when determining set up/cure times.
You don't have to wait 24 hrs buddy. 2 hrs is plenty sufficient

I'm putting some pvc together and I'm wondering how long should I let it sit before it's aquarium safe? I use Oatey brand pvc cement.

Does anybody know how long I should wait?

Oh, about three minutes before I lose patience. Do not, under any circumstances, follow my practice on this!

I knew I potentially was creating a problem a year ago with hose clamps on my varios 8 to my reefer 750 plumbing and it looks like it came back and bit me. ICP shows high tin and aluminum. So had to rig this up today luckily had some parts waiting.

Waited about an hour so far and will fire it up soon. Fingers crossed.

How did it work out? You can also avoid contaminants by using titanium hose clamps from Titan Marine. They are extremely strong and will never corrode or react with saltwater.

I’ve gone 1 hour to one day depending on the progress of my project
