How long do you quarantine new fish for?

I’ve been doing it for 30+ years on countless tanks. But again, I don’t advise that other people do it the way I do.

For the first 8-9 years I was in the hobby I never would use a quarantine tank for fish. Which is strange because I would absolutely quarantine new adult discus fish I would get in. I was breeding them and had some $ invested.
But back around 91 or so I was adding new fish from my local fish store.
Had about 15 fish in a 90 gallon tank ( fish only ). All of a sudden they started dropping like flies.
Lost every single fish in the tank. Tried every medicine the store had ( except copper).

Since then I quarantine every fish. Full 30 days in copper, another 6 days in Prazi.
