How long does flame scallop live in captivity ?

A long time, probably years if you supply the bi-valve with the right nutrition, it's a filter feeder so in my mind this type of invert is not going to do well in a ultra low nutrient system such as those designed for Sps. Scallops will probably thrive in a system designed for NPS ( Non-photosynthetic corals/ ahermatypic).

They will need a fine particle suspension of nutrients. Goniopower, ReefSnow or stirring up the detritus would be to their advantage.

What happens if it kept in a sps tank ?

You will need to supplement it's feeding with food designed for filter feeders and then deal with the additional changes in water parameters that may have.

Shall I dose goniopower? And should I dose it to its mouth or just into water?

Flame scallops are relatively short lived, averaging close to 3 years; but, bear in mind these are wild caught and they are anywhere from 1-3 years old when you purchase them. They require A LOT of food by target feeding of phytoplankton multiple times a day. They are cryptic and will find a dark hole in your tank out of the light and they will get stressed if you move them around, but they are a cool addition if you can keep them fed.

I had mine for a year and a half. Fun little guy but then he just slowly stopped feeding. He got live phyto and coral frenzy both broadcasted into the whole tank and target feedings.

I've had mine for almost a year now...I broadcast feed with reef roids and target feed with marine snow....I spray a little bit in and around him with a turkey baster...he has wedged himself in a crevice between 2 rocks in my tank but he is still visible
