I have had my Fluval 13.5 up for 3 months but I screwed up the scape and put too much rock. No room to put my nano syphon in the sand to vac. I want to rescape everything when I get my 90 up so I can put my fish in there temporarily. I'd like to switch the sand from Fiji Pink to Hawaiian Black and use 10 pounds of Caribsea Life Rock. I have some small pieces of live rock I got from my uncle that I want to put in the first filter section in hope of making a refugium. The rest of my rock I've had im there for as long as I've had the tank so if I were to break it into pieces to put in the filtration would it be good enough to have the tank still cycled?

I'm afraid of hitchhikers. There is a lfs that has some beautiful live rock but they're too big to use
Would they be willing to break it up for you? Hitchhikers aren't a huge concern in a tank that size
