I have my sump/refugium setup for about 5 weeks now.
Currently have Caulerpa and Chaeto, deep sand bed, added Fiji booster mud (2 jars) using a Aqueon model 2 sump with no socks and protein skimmer running as well. Also have a carbon sock, and 2x Chemi pure elite... running a 6500k bulb for light.. heater in the fuge... powerhead at stage 1 and powerhead at stage3.
I noticed my nitrate is at its all time low of 20ppm. I used to have 80ppm when I was running 2 eheim canister filters.
Since im new to the sump/refugium filter... I wanted to find out how long for the fuge to mature. When can I see some copepods and amphipods?
Also should I remove the sponge filter attached to my return magdrive? So that organisms can pass through???
