Is there a certain number of days of using UV that the water clarity will start to show an improvement? Just curious.

(For the crystal clear, fish-floating effect).

Depends on your problem
Oh, there’s not really a problem. I just tried closing my giant UV for 1-2 months to see the effects. My tank is growing algae on the glass very quick and the tank is not as clear as it used to be.

I turned back on my UV today (about 14 hours ago) but I’m not seeing any change yet. Just wondering if I need to wait a little longer.

I’d say a day or two with a properly sized UV. Was dealing with some pretty bad bacterial blooms. Bad enough to where you could barely make out the rock work. Mine cleared up to crystal in a day or so after installing. This was using a 90 watt Lifeguard Aquatics Pro Max on 212 total water volume.

Update: water is crystal clear! :)

I just picked up my UV last weekend cant wait to get it installed and clear up the water.

I'd say about 2 days provided you don't have major issues and just want to polish it.

1- Micron socks perform miracles too.
