How long does it take to cycle a tank with coralline algae?

If i pour this in my tank for nirtifying bacteria, how long would it usually take to be fish safe and if anybody has used this product before how do you like it?

The cycle will happen fast as long as theres ammonia present. The coraline will take months probably.

It doesn't work that way, you need to either cycle the tank the old fashion way or add either Biospera or Dr. Tims to cycle the tank. The ARC coraline algae does add coraline spores to your tank, but it does not cycle your tank.

The bottle has nitrifying bacteria. Why cant he use this to cycle by dosing ammonia?

Do you have rock or substrate in the tank for the nitrifying bacteria to hold onto?

It does not specify, to be used as a cycling agent. I have used it to add coraline algae spore to my tank, and it does work, for adding coraline spores to a tank.

Yes it does. It literally says it has nitrifying bacteria added into the bottle.

If the tank is not mature enough to grow coralline, then it will not. Might as well wait, seems like a product to add after the cycle is completed, and the uglies are starting to subside

Coralline algae will not convert ammonia to nitrites or nitrates to nitrates. That is done by specific genera of bacteria. Flourishing coralline algae will uptake ammonia, nitrites or nitrates for its nitrogen needs but I doubt that you will ever have enough coralline in your tank to remove all the ammonia excreted by your fish. Even if you add nothing, the requisite bacteria will get into your tank. There are bacteria cultures sold that can speed up the process.

I would have to assume the the included bacteria is to keep the Coraline alive until it gets into an established tank.

Just because its in there does not correlate to the product is to be used as the bacteria designed to cycle a tank.

The concentration is not present.

Would it work to cycle the tank, yes no doubt in my mind.

Would it take longer to cycle of course.

The Coraline would die off in the ammonia spike and never grow.
