I have 2 clowns and a Royal Gramma going through QT right now. I finished the Copper Power treatment last week. They have now gone into the sterile tank and doing the GC / Metro treatment that was outlined in the sticky.

I got the fish from a fellow reefer that had them for about 6 months. When I put them in QT I noticed the clown fish had white stringy poop. I started feeding them them medicated food right away. Focus + GC + selcon + Frozen food. I have been feeding them this since 4/22.

All three fish have always eaten great and look healthy. However I have still noticed some white poop coming out of the clowns. It is not as long as it once was but is still a .5" or so. Do I just stay the course on this? Is the medicated food now going to work better now that they are in the second QT with GC and Metro being dosed in the water as well. This last go round of food I added two scoops of GC instead of just one.

Sometimes it can take up to 3 weeks. You may have to feed fenbendazole if the metro or GC isn't doing the trick.

You are sure it's white and stringy and not brown correct?

It is definitely white / clear-ish and not brown. Fish seem really healthy otherwise. I will try and get a picture at some point this week.

Fish overall thin or fat?

I agree with this. Some can be quite stubborn.

Fish look like a healthy weight, bellies get big after eating. They are small clowns, maybe 1.5" or so. They do not seem skinny. I have never seen white poop from the Royal Gramma. He looks great though.

I know the general recommendation is one scoop of GC, but I use two, personally.. to account for the lower metronidazole dosage.

If it’s internal flagellates that *should* help, but if it’s stubborn or resistant worms... I agree the fenbendazole might be the next course of action.

Thanks for all of the replies. Any chance the poop is like this due to feeding Mysis / LRS? From what I have seen it never gets really long like other pictures I have seen on here. Still going the course just wondered if it was a possibility. These were aqua cultured clowns that a hobbyist had for 6 months and fed them flake food. Seems strange they might have worm resistant to GC.
