How long for aiptasia to die

I have never seen any aiptasia in my tank before, but today I found some on one rock. I was like nope, this is not happening! I just pulled the rock out. Now the wife doesn’t like how the scape looks. So, how long before it’s safe for the rock to go back in? Thank you!

Aptasia wont die from just pulling the rock out , youll need to kalk paste that thing or use something on it to kill it crazy glue over it or something , alot of times when you see one there are more , just very tiny. If you try an rip it up at all it will cause even more to grow.

First response is never.
You can place the rock in a mild bleach solution for a day. Then take the rock out and let it dry for a week or 2 until it drys all the way deep inside. Rinse and then place back in the tank.

Just so I understand correctly, if I leave that rock out of the tank for a year, then put it back in, they will still be alive?

I’ve heard they will be the last thing standing, them and cockroaches in all seriousness you could just chisel out the part were the aip is and get the rock back in the tank

jmo ,, Once you have them in your tank you will always have them there are ways to control them ,, sort of ,, I have put Peppermint shrimp in my tank and had good luck with them ,, really good luck ,, the down side ,, I think they messed with my zoas

You can buy a Copperband Butterfly fish ,, I have never went this route ,, I have read they will eat the Aptisia ,, once the Aptisia are gone the fish may die on you because,, I have heard that's all they eat ,, chances are when the fish is gone ,, the Aptisia will be back ,, they are like **** roaches ,,

You can use a product like Aptisia X ,, the down side ,, this could make you problem worse ,, this is the route I am taking right now ,, I spent a hour killing them today

I was really hoping just pulling the rock out would be the end of it. I knew they were bad news. I havnt added anything to my tank in months, so I’m sure there is more. Definitely don’t want to fight that battle.

Don't stress over this ,,, its part of the hobby ,, the only Reefers that don't have a problem with these things ,, are Reefers that have set extensive QT Tanks ,,
