How long do you think it'll take my 3 large turbo snails to clean my 150 glass? Is there some way I can stear them towards the glass, now they seem to like the corners and bottom of my tank but not climbing.

trying to steer your snails toward a certain area of the tank will be like herding cats but 100X slower lol. They will get there in time. My turbos tend to stay on the glass 99% of the time and make their way all over.

Lol. Ok thanks! I was going to move them but I'll just let them be and nicely ask them to move to the front glass.

They go where they want, when they want. I've tried forcing snails onto spots before. It never works.

Asking your CuC to keep your glass clean is like asking a cow to poop in 1 corner of a pasture.

You're gonna have to do it yourself.

Snails are a primary component of any reef tank's clean up crew.

Yes they do eat algae off the glass but you will have to do your part to keep the glass clean.

I think it's pretty common for people to assume that snails will clean your glass which they do, but not to the extent that we would like them to. You'll still end up with snail trails on your glass.

You should get a magnetic glass cleaner like the ones provided by Tunze, Algae Free, or Flipper. You'll get much faster results than 3 turbo snails :)

I have the cleaner magnet. I just feel that it simply moves the algae around and doesn't get rid of it. So I'm trying to supplement with a few turbos.

the tunze magnet won't just move it around, but then it's up to the flow of your tank to get the floating algae out to the sump/filtration system and remove it.

All my snails ever did was leave trails on the glass of where they went.

I use a scrubber with a long arm and an old licence for the hard coraline and stuff that doesn't like to come off. I do this about every other day.

Last night when I was doing a water change I can see where the Turbos have been on my glass, there was clean dots on the film where the Turbos were munching. It looked like connect the dots, all these lines all over the place. I clean the front glass but leave the back and sides for the snails.
