Hey all,
I just got a flasher wrasse yesterday and he is in the hospital tank (BB with pvc)
I don't have a filter on that tank, so I want to get him moved to the observation tank (RSM 170 with some rocks and coral). I have been raising the salinity, so he should be ready to move tomorrow.

Q1 - If he is already eating well, how long should I wait to give prazi? He has no outward signs of flukes or disease that I can tell.

Q2 - how long should he be in prazi? I was going to dose the hospital tank, then move him, then dose the observation tank in 5 days. I know it lasts 24 hours, but what is the minimal time to leave a fish in it for full effect.

Agreed. 24 hours minimum in the prazi. You can do a large water change after that to remove the bulk of it.... It shouldn't be active in the water after 48 hours anyway. the water change is mainly to remove the dead fluke bodies. wait 5-7 days and do it again. Watch for stringy white poop. Wrasse are notorious for both flukes and intestinal worms.

and what do I do if I see stringy white poop?
(first poop was normal)

Use Metroplex by Seachem, along with "Focus" by the same company - one level "Seachem scoop" of each in about a tablespoon of food (can be frozen or lightly moistened pellets - store any unused portion in the refrigerator), and feed that 1-2 x per day for 10-14 days, assuming you no longer see stringy white poop. That should take care of any internal parasites.

Stringy white poop could be intestinal worms. Would do another round of prazi in 5 days. Would also get a cheap bio wheel filter
