I don't have a powerhead or anything in my ATO reservoir, and it usually takes about a month before it needs a refill. Does the water go bad at any point as it sits stagnant for a month? Thanks

Outdoor, indoor or basement? All about chances of containments getting in it...

Indoor in living room. Enclosed within tank stand in darkness.

if that's the case then basically forever. if no contaminants are getting in, you'll be fine. you could always change it out quarterly or something like that if there's any concern

Thanks. Should the water in it be kept air tight?

i have my reservoir refills when water level gets low but never empty the bucket. i have a lid on it but not air tight by any means. I just measure TDS after each refill and always read 0 for 3 months now

Keep it covered. I find if you circulate it , you get that slime growing in it. Just keep you container clean and cover it, should be good for weeks.
