I’m in the process of ordering my tank but it may take anywhere from 8-12 weeks to receive it. I have a buddy that’s getting rid of his fish and I was going to rehome them but they’d be going in QT first.

My question is, how long can I keep these fish in a QT tank? I’ve kept fish in there for as long as 76 days before when I had Ich but is there any downside to keeping them in there longer then that???

I have kept fish in small tanks for a long time. Are they truly being quarantined or temporarily housed? Size of the quarantine tank and the size and number of fish would be helpful to know.

They would initially be quarantined in meds then I’d do water changes to remove the copper and whatever else I may or may not treat em for.

It’s a 29g tank

May be possibly housing a small purple tang, a small flame angel and 2 Wyoming clownfish.

Just beware that some fish will go postal if confined too long.

+1

That is a small space for those 4 fish. I would see if I could get a 2nd tank off craigslist or FB for cheap to split them up.

My girlfriend would kill me if I brought ANOTHER tank into the house hahaha. Especially after finding out how much I’m paying for the new tank! [emoji23] what if I housed the tang and 2 clowns in the 29 and the angel in the 13.5?

How large are the clowns? 13 is too small to put the angel in, wont have enough swimming room and I think it would get really stressed.

Not sure exactly, I’m waiting for my buddy to send me some pics
You might be able to get away with the clowns in the 13 and the other in the 29, I would just watch for any aggression. You could try all 4 in the 29 and just keep an eye out for aggression. I would highly recommend getting a Seachem Ammonia alert badge for the QT tank so you can monitor that.

Already have one!! I housed a tang, clownfish and a fire fish in this tank before and had no problems. I know the sizes are different but they were in there for 76 days together
