How long should a wrasse hide for ?

Add we d a katherine wrasseto my tank on Saturday, it's been hiding since then. So iribe 4 days now. Should I start to worry ?

Have you seen it at all in that time? How big is the tank? Is it completely covered? What are the tankmates?

Hiding for awhile can happen, but it should have at least made an appearance by now.

Saw him the first day, tank is all covered, tank mates, so on, exquisite, triumphant color, yellow corks, 2 clowns, black cap basket, orchid dottyback in a 150

With the tankmates in mind, someone is forcing your new addition to remain in hiding. Did you use an acclimation box?

Sorry auto correct . My bad. Yes I did use an acclimation box for 3 days, while it was in the box now one paid attention to it.

Could just be waiting to come out or it’s sleeping schedule isn’t synced with your tank. I’ve heard some wrasses can stay under for up to a week. Crazy stuff.

Katherines wrasses don't bury, so that isnot the issue.

Sure, but what's a "triumphant color"?

Regardless, someone is harassing or at least posturing. It may subside on its own, but if it persists much longer than 7-10 days you may need to take action.

I have a leopard wrasse that hid for about 2 days when I first added her. She was on a far different schedule than my other fish and I would see her at night after the lights went off.
She eventually acclimated to my time zone and is seen during day light hours now, but it took weeks. I would watch to try to see where she slept. I now know her sleeping area and she
gets up around 7:30 every morning and beds down anywhere from 7pm to 10pm. The other fish don't bother her and she moves about the tank, but it took weeks.

Expectations for hiding are far different for genera which sleep in the sand. For genera that don't (like the example at hand here), hiding is potentially a sign of a problematic issue, especially if it lasts more than a few days.

Ah, good call on a tricolor - probably is.
And agree; it's likely the dottyback or possibly the solon.
