How long should it take for a frogspawn to split from one head into two ? I’ve had this frogspawn looking miserable for a long time now. My one head of hammer is fine fully extended but this frogspawn has seemed to of develop two mouths ? is it splitting or what I’m confused guys

it often has polyps covering the mouths

The appearance of a second mouth is a sure sign of a coral splitting. You can speed up the process by feeding it newly hatched brine shrimp daily and keeping your calcium and alkalinity levels in line. Just spray the brine shrimp into the tentacles. Corals look miserable during the splitting process because it takes a lot of energy.

That’s awesome news shame it take so long tho coral was beautiful when it was fully extended. How long do you reckon it should take to fully split into two

That’s a tough question to answer. It requires the adding on to the coral skeleton. That’s why it’s critical to maintain calcium and alkalinity levels. Your talking months, if not years. Feed it well.

Everything is covered dosing all for reef and testing regularly acros, montis ect all doing well guess I just gotta wait it out buddy thanks for your responses

only issue I have is a super invasive sponge but that’s a story for another thread

It’s not unusual for a third or even fourth mouth to appear. And then you get a three or a four-way split. This process takes a lot of energy. Feed it.
