How long to clean out/sanitize tank?

My husband decided he no longer wants his 29g cube from his office after his last fish death. The tank was never emptied or cleaned. It's basically been sitting long enough all of the water has evaporated leaving a nice thick layer of salt on top of the sand.

I emptied the tank out and refilled with RODI and vinegar and turned on the pumps. How long do should I let the tank run with the vinegar before rinsing it out and restarting it back up with new sand, rock, etc?

Overnight should be fine IMO.
And I think it's fine to use tap for your rinse and scrub stuff.

I have 2 more in queue after this and this is the easiest by far I think. The others are a 60g and another I don't know the exact size of but it's tall and thin so I'm thinking a pony tank. You're more than welcome to make a trip out here to help clean. Lol.

Hahah. I'm pretty jealous. My little so cal house is tank limiting.
I dunno, scrubbing dead corraline is pretty cathartic. Maybe I could write off the trip as a mental health retreat.
