How long to drip/float acclimate your fish?

Yes exactly! I've seen some where if you buy $200 worth you get free shipping and that's just too much when we can go either 20mins away to our LFS or one hour to the other but since you said you were getting a bad experience from petco, maybe just price the amount out well with the shipping and or try to get sales. But I don't want to give you any incorrect info on online shipping so hopefully someone can give you a better answer than me.

I dont do this. The guy that set my tank up didnt with the first few fish and i freaked. I havent with all the rest and havent had any problems.

Well that's ok if you think it's best for your tank, everyone has different ways of adding fish. The only reason we want to acclimate and QT is because like you just said you just added the fish with no precaution before hand. Well we lost almost a total of $1000 of fish due to velvet because one fish had it and soon enough all the other fish got it and died..

I usually just float for around 15 minutes, and drip fairly quickly at 2 or 3 drops per second..I watch them closely and will drip for an hour as long as everyone is looking good.

I worked at a Rainforest Cafe for a few years taking care of their fish. When we'd get fish, we'd taken them out of the box and give them 30 minutes or so to come to room temperature (if needed). Then straight into a freshwater dip for 10 minutes, then into QT. Lights off the entire time. We rarely if ever lost fish there, and even then only if they looked pretty iffy to begin with.
Right now with my tank I'll drip for 30-45 minutes. Enough to pull a gallon out of my tank.

I match the Sg of the QT to the LFS or shipping water. Float the bag for about 15 min. A careful freshwater dip and let them loose into the QT. I will drip acclimate inverts for about an hour or so before they go into the DT.

How would you go about adding the fish to the display tank from your QT tank? I just want to see opinions on the proper way to do that.

Aquariumdepot.com formerly reef2go.com is the biggest scammer I had the misfortune to deal with. Followed closely by saltwaterfish.com. On the other hand I always received great fish/corals from liveaquaria.com/divers den.
After I put the fish in QT then I will give it a break for a day and then run a round or two of prazipro followed buy 6 weeks in Hyposalinity. Once that is finished, I will make small water changes from the DT and use that water from the DT to make small water changes in the QT. The objective is to slowly raise the Salinity back up to that of the DT over the period of 4 or 5 days. Once the QT is at the same Salinity as the DT then I double ckeck the readings. If all is well then the fish can be transferred from the QT to the DT. The fish has been proactively treated for flukes and Ich and the process is relatively gentle on the fish if done correctly.

I never bought any livestock online so I don't have to do much. I do usually test the salinity and if it is almost the same, I acclimate a few minutes by adding some of my tank water. (I don't quarantine). If the salinity is different It may take half an hour.
In over 40 years I don't ever remember losing any fish to acclimating.

I've watched a YouTube video and read that it's about the same time as you would for fish so drip and float acclimate, and as for freshwater dipping I would say the same. I'm about to read up on it some more so I should have a better answer for you in a few.
