How long to grow coraline algae?

Hello everyone. I have a 215 gallon system and my cycle finished around June 4th and I have had a few fish from June 8th. I turned my lights on 12 days ago. I have 2 Neptune skies, with max power around 45% for 4 hours of the day and ramping down in the morning and evening. How long does it usually take to see signs of Coraline algae grow? Thanks in advance!

If everything is on point then maybe at 5 months you might see the first signs if you seeded the tank. Coraline typically starts on the plastic parts like powerheads long before the rocks.

i saw my first bit of CA around 7mo in
 
My tank took about 2 months for coralline to appear on the rocks.

Feb 22nd - New Tank Set up

Mar 9th - Added corals with coralline algae on its frag plugs.

April 18th - I noticed first sign of coralline algae.

Hey OP I'll tell you one mistake I made. Around 5 or 6 months I started seeing coraline on my powerheads and the same time I started seeing GHA developing. I thought for sure the coraline would out compete the GHA on my rocks so I just let the tank do its thing and month after month the GHA became a jungle. I was able to eradicate it with turbos and urchins and elbow grease. Now everywhere the GHA used to be on my rocks and back glass is filling in with coraline. So basically if you stay the course with good stability eventually the coraline will establish a good foothold in your system and help keep nuisance algae away.

Oh ok that's probably it they were just closed up tight for the night but a few looked very white also but not uncommon overnight.
 
It can be as soon as 6 weeks to 2 months in my experience.

Just remember you have to add it to the tank in some way(rock/frag/etc)

You may see something in 6 months. Probably closer to 9 before it becomes obvious.
 
Stays a mystery though. After 6 months or a year some have to scrape it weekly from their glass else they can't see their fish and corals anymore and curse the dang stuff, and some never see any coralline at all, while parameters are the same.
