How long to hydrate new RO membrane?

I purchased a new 100 gpd membrane from BRS and the rejection rate is at 93.7%.
TDS in: 350
Out: 22
I’ve been running it for two days and it hasn’t dropped at all. Id hate to kill my DI or waste anymore water. So I’m wondering how long does it take for a membrane to fully hydrate or did I receive a faulty membrane?
BRS told me it can take up to 3 weeks to fully hydrate… I call BS

I'm running a 75GPD Aquatic Life RODI system, and from what I remember I ran a set amount of water through the carbon and sediment filters (something like 25 gallons) another set amount through the membrane after installing (something like 10 gallons), then the DI resin (and another 5 gallons).

Don't quote my on the numbers because I'm going off memory and probably remembering wrong, but the idea was to flush as much crap out as possible before adding the more expensive (and more susceptible to damage) filters.

I run mine 24 hours to make sure they have stabilized. I do not remember anything about that in the manual. The Product Data Sheet says to rinse for 24 hours.

Did this replace a membrane?

Interesting...my SpectraPure RODI never mentioned anything about initialization\rinsing. However, I do flush carbon filters for a minute or so.

The only reference SpectraPure makes in regard to production is the following:

22. It may take several days of normal operation for the membrane to reach its full production rate.

I have only every purchased the SpectraSelect membrane from them and they are shipped wet after a wet test.

Ah...I thought all of them were shipped wet. Now the BRS question makes sense. Also helps to (partially) explain SpectraPure's prices. I've used them since '95 and always been happy with their products.

Yes it replaced a 90 gpd spectrapure plus (pre flushed) membrane. I would always get a 98-99% rejection rate through those but this is my first time switching to the BRS membranes.

All pre filters were flushed prior to installing the membrane.
I might just switch back to the spectrapures because if it is true that I have to flush for three weeks I don’t want to waste that water and kill my prefilters or DI.

I was getting around 96.8% rejection rate. Also around one+ year old.

But I guess I had to find out myself to not switch from spectrapure. Huge disappointment as I can’t return it.
