Buying a few Blue Reef Chromis from live Aquaria, and this might seem a silly question but my current fish were all bought pretty much the same time, same place and went into a pretty empty tank... so i didn't bother quarantining them from each other.
How long should i QT the new fish...??

Was it from their divers den or not? I usually don’t quarantine fish from the divers den unless there is a specific reason, since they have an advanced quarantine process already.

2-4 weeks is pretty standard for a quarantine.

ah yes! it was indeed divers den!

Personally, if you are going to QT, do it for ALL fish, regardless of source. I do occasionally break my own rule for a fish from a local reefers tank (and I know them), but not for any from commercial sources. If you read what DD do, it’s more conditioning than a reliably full QT. I isolate DD fish for at least two weeks.

I quarantine 90 days.

If any any time during this period, fish display symptoms of disease, I treat and wait for it to clear up.

Once clear, I reset the QT clock to 90 days.

I qt minimum of 28 days for most fish. Some longer, some shorter, some medicated, some not. For a damsel/chromis, I would qt for 28 days and treat with prazipro at a minimum.

Since you didn’t quarantine any fish of your current fish you have a few things to think about. Your current livestock could possibly have some sort of disease without showing outward symptoms. Maybe maybe not. Would they infect the newcomers possibly? If you can guarantee that your current fish are disease free, definitely quarantine. It’s kind of like rolling the dice. Some people never quarantine, and never have issues. Some people risk it and have velvet wipe out a whole display over night. Lesson learned the hard way. Some would rather practice ich management than eradication. Some individuals like PaulB thinks quarantine tanks are silly!!! I completely respect his opinion and knowledge on the matter.
There is nothing special about divers den quarantine practices. Lol! I wouldn't even call it quarantining. More of conditioning and observation period like @ca1ore said. I wouldn't trust any source myself. When it comes to quarantining, I’m more a treat prophylactically person than sit back and observe. But, if you start down the road of treating everything, it doesn’t stop with fish. It goes for everything wet. Corals, snails, anemones, etc.... I have been using hotrocks method for the last several batches of fish with great success.
I found using two Quarantine tanks identical to each other makes life much easier. Having a second sterile and cycled quarantine to transfer fish to after two weeks in copper at therapeutic levels minimizes unecessary prolonged exposer.
If you decide to go the treatment route, I would entertain this method. If you’d like to read a bit more about this quarantine method it can found here. https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/my-current-qt-process.483371/
Also here’s a good write up on how to quarantine.

Here’s a useful chart/guideline for treating fish with copper and Chloriquine. https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/fish-and-treatment-guidelines-with-chart.283450/
Here’s another guide for coral and invert timeframes. https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/coral-invert-quarantine-time-frames.334584/

Great info, thank you. I currently only have a spare 55g i can set up as a QT. All existing fish are healthy and disease free, have had them about 1.5 years. . I said i hadn't quarantined them but i bought them all at the same time and the tank was empty for a few months, aside from a baby horseshoe crab and an urchin, so i guess they basically were kind-of quarantined? I never saw any disease or had to treat them, so I want to make sure i do it right with the new fish.

Question, what are the ramifications of using copper? Does that nuke any equipment for use later...?

Here is my little run down of how I run my QT regiments.. Let me know what ya think!
Nice vid

When you use copper id imagine you'd have to redose after if you do any waterchanges?
