Should I consider my radiant wrasse a goner or could he still be hiding?

I received my radiant wrasse last Friday, this is a fish that has been on my top three must have list for a very long time. When I received it, it wasn't looking so good. It was not swimming around in the bad, rather just blowing around and when I took it out of the bag it didnt really move. I know wrasses act funny and just lay there when nervous so wasn't sure what to make of it. I only have sand in my display so that is where it went. When I added it the t5s had just came on, and it didn't swim but kind of sank and got blown to a certain spot of my tank. The first several hours it just layed on the bottom and didn't bury itself or swim, but i've seen them do that before. Now it has been almost five full days and I have not seen it again, should I consider it a goner or sI they hide longer than that? Typically my new wrasses come out in about three to our days. I hope it isn't dead because it is a beautiful fish and took forever for me to get one.

I had one that did for 5 days and another that jumped right in and never hid. I've found it depends on who they are first and foremost then what they've been through, and lastly what your tank environment brings out in them. All in all mine have always came out how much depends on their tank mates and tank conditions.

I've had mine dissapear for a week, I thought he jumped out of the tank or died and is jammed between a rock, went crazy searching for him with a flashlight for a week, then one day there he was, it was very strange. Hopefully yours is just hiding and will show up healthy.

Up to 3 weeks is quite possible.
Wow 3 weeks?? I’ve just got my first wrasse and he seemed fine when I put him in but now I can’t find him at all haha. Is it possible this guys burrowed in the sand? I don’t have much hide space in my tank but I def can’t moves stuff around as I got some “under rock dwellers” I’m afraid to squish.
