How long will algae last in RODI water?

I'm breaking down my tank that he bubble algae in it and using one of the pumps for my new tank that's only filled with RODI. How long will it take for the algae to die before adding in salt?

I'm not sure, or even if it will kill it all in any reasonable time.

It's a pretty tough alga.

I'd wait at least 24 h.
