How long will live rock stay "Live"?

Hi all. I am upgrading to a 30long from a smaller tank. I plan on using the same water, sand and rocks from old unit. My question is my live rocks will be out of the water for an unknown period of time during my new set up while I Revamp my aquascape. Hopefully this will only be a couple of hours. Do I need to worry about my beneficial bacteria dying off in that time period? Thanks.

Put it in a 5 gallon bucket and cover it with tank water or even new water the correct temp and it will be fine overnight. Bacteria are very hardy.
