On vacation and my Apex is unresponsive. Not connected to fusion and not processing. Meaning that the EB832s are providing power, but activities such as turning on the lights are not functioning. I have had someone check the tank, the skimmer, return pump, heaters, power heads are operational. But I will be on vacation for 5 more days. At what point will not having light affect the fish and smattering of non-SPS corals?

It shouldn't have any affect on the fish. Usually for algea outbreaks and stuff like that it's recommended a three day blackout period without any ill effects, but I don't know if 5 days without light is going to cause any problems. I wouldn't believe so as some corals go as much as a week during the stormy season without light. Does the person checking the tank have the capability of manually overriding your lights?

I will probably ask them to get a basic timer and talk them through disconnecting the Kessils from the Apex. Then set the color and intensity.

What do you have for Kessils? ( I ask because I'm a Kessil man myself. )
