looks like we will be evacuating Irma. I don't have any battery back up for the tank. It's a 32 biocube with 3 fish, 2 nems, and a few soft coral.
How long will the tank be ok with no power? I have a generator I can turn it back on when we get back home (if we can).

As long as it takes for your 3 fish to use up all of the oxygen in the system. Every tank is different 12 ish hours is generally a good and generous starting point.

I'm turning the A/C down to arctic temp and leaving just prior to tropical storm winds to a better house to weather the storm. Power should hold for a while and I'm not in an evacuation zone so hopefully I can return just after the storm passes and get the generator up and running. The storm looks to turning over south Florida so it will sit on us most of Sunday day time. To be honest if it does hit, our fish tanks as much as they are loved in the end are a luxury. It gets primal after a major storm quickly and this thing is a cat4 or bigger. Might grab a battery powered air stone and hope for 12hr or less time till I can get it running.

I lost my whole system during tropical storm Debby the 12 hr time frame given was pretty much spot on...

If possible see if you can rig up an air pump to a battery.

I'd say this is the main factor. It's September in Florida so it's not like you really have to worry about powering your heater. All the other stuff (ATO not running) shouldn't really matter for 2 or 3 days.

This is my battery back up, planning on running the whole system but dialing back my pumps and lights a bit
90g mixed reef 10 fish or so

Ive got a 36 hour vortech battery and am driving to aquarium specialty tomorrow to get a second so I can daisy chain them into a 72 hour system

Plus 2x bublers, a fresh pack of batteries and some giant ait stones

If you are home you can aerate manually by standing there with a picture and scooping up water and pouring it back in.

It's tedious but....ive had to do it.

You do it with one arm till you can't lift that arm switch and go till you are exhausted, you take a break and you start again.

Problem is.....i won't be home....
