How Lost Saved My Family's Life

Ok, so maybe thats a bit of a exaggeration but here goes..
So the Lost Finale was on tonight, and even though we were very tired, we decided we had to watch before tomorrow. So we stay up. Around 11:30 or so, we both smell something burning, after a mad dash around the house I locate the source of the smell. It's coming from under my tank. My skimmer has been having serious problems with skimming properly, has been affected by changes in water level and has been skimming very very wet. The cup had filled with water and was spitting water all over the inside of my stand. I have my power strip taped to the wall inside and water was shooting right into the strip and was beginning to burn.
if we weren't awake for that, who knows what would have happened....

Dude glad you caught it. What we do on Sat if you burnt the house down? How would we have a party? Ohhh the fiance wants to know if the wife will be home? If she is she will come to the "fraggin party" if not she is staying home. Let me know. Glad you did not burn the house down.

i had a similar experience...i came home and caught my family watching lost, so i set the couch on fire to teach them a lesson. its kinda the same thing JK!

someone should start a photo thread for everyone to show off their fire hazards. (20 plugs, 6 power strips, splashing saltwater, potential floods, what could go wrong?)

i came home to a fire about 4-5 months ago.. danm chiller caught fire... sucks..

But it was a good excuse to get my new tank..
