How low is too low for ALK?

It sure will, just wanted to know where you guys keep yours, and at what point it could be detrimental to my tank.
 
lower then 8 you will see negative affects. So I keep mine around 9.7 ideally
 
I know people that keep their Alk at 6.5 dKH with no issues (some probiotic users).

Natural sea water has a dKH of 6-7.

It's more important to keep it stable, rather than chase a certain number. People have very successful reefs ranging frmo 6-12 dKH.

I agree with the above. I personally like to keep mine around 9.

settle on a number and strive to keep it right there
