Hi everyone, I have a 29g which is 30"Wx12"Dx18"H and I was wondering how many AI Prime's I need. Thank you in advance.

For the tank size getting one hydra 32 may be better. I may be wrong as I use kessil. Seems a better spread for the tank size though.

That all depends on what your trying to do with the tank
Right now I'm running softies, LPS, and a BTA. I would love to have SPS, but it won't kill me if I can't.

Two Primes would be perfect. The thirty two will give you a hotspot over the center. You’ll get better spread with the primes. You can definitely keep SPS or anything you want. Light will not be a limiting factor in that tank. I have three over a 65 gallon.

Two Primes or one Hydra imo. Well, I own a Prime over a 20g, so from my experience I would say two Primes over 30" definitely should work. But apparently one Hydra works too.

You could maximize light for anything you may want to or can grow w/ 3 AI's..
Start around 8:47 for 12 x 12 cube..
You tank is really between 2 and 3 12/12 "cells"

No right or wrong choice between the 2 since you have dimming.
Only a matter of the philosophy of keeping as much light in the tank as you want.
One big advantage is the 3 is more "panel like" and since you will probably dim quite a bit lifespan is increased, fan noise may be less.
BIG catch.. $200 more than probably err "needed".

Believe the par is measured 3" under water.. best to check vid.
Single cell par will overlap.

I have 3 on my 36 inch tank. Get them set on the low side and I can still grow anything I want. Two would prob work fine for you. Two smaller fixtures would be better than 1 larger fixture
