just wondering how many ai sol blues I would need for my 54g bow front corner I am planning on having sps lps

thank you
Paul

I would go with minimum 2. Should be the perfect amount of light. I would personally go with one radion since it would be a little cheaper than 2 sol blues. The radion has the perfect amount of coverage where the ai sols would be more than enough to do that. I had one over a 37 and it was just barely enough so I changed to a radion and was amazed at the coverage and colors I got from my acros and montis

I have that same 54 corner bow. I have the SOL Blue, and personally I think one is plenty. I have mine set about 12" off the water and light still pours off the side a bit. I may be lowering my to 10" soon. Its super bright. Anyone else have an input as to why we would need 2 fixtures? Seems like over kill for the small footprint of a tank. Being it's a corner BOwfront and all.

what kind of corals do you have??

I have a lot of lps. All on the bottom of my tank now. 2 frogspawn which keep splitting heads. A few recorders, mushrooms, lunar eclipse, blue steels, and other misc zoas. Everything is doing well. And I've only topped my percentage intensity at 70%. With my 54 corner bow small footprint one is plenty. I do recommend either reconfiguring the lenses to keep from spotlighting. I actually just switched all lights to the 70 degree lenses.

Thinking about the footprint I agree with myclang. I forgot that the footprint is relatively compact. One sol would be perfectly fine. I'm sure you could get some sps in there also if you can get them close enough to the light.

I know I have a terrible cyano. I had some issues with my skimmer and am just now getting it to go back to normal.
