Ok, seems like I am using up a crazy amount of electricity. I have to have things running into other rooms to take advantage of other circuits in my house. The room where my aquarium sits is on a 15 amp circuit and I can't run everything at the same time.

Feel free to list your equpiement and its draw.

3 - 250W halide 6 amps I think?
4 60" T5's - ?
Reeflo return - 3.5 amps
800W heater - 9 amps all by itself!!!
Skimmer - ?
2 MP 40's -?

overall I am well over 20-25 amps, what about you?

I had to install a separate 20A circuit breaker to where my fish tank was. Before I went back to MH I calculated that I must have been pulling almost 12A steady from the circuit. Now my lights are on a separate breaker from my heater and pumps.

I made sure all my tanks are pretty emergy efficient.
180g has
50w return pump
30w skimmer
3x65w lights
2x20 watt powerheads
No heaters needed but i do run a fan to keep the tank cooler sometimes
This and my living room tv are the only things on this 15a circuit.

360g has
150w return pump
45w skimmer
Basic fowlr led lights ~100w
1/2hp chiller draws 450w when running.
I ran a dedicated 20a circuit for this tank.
Thats it

60g has
45w return
100w light
2 15w powerheads

100 gallon system.

I have everything running through a single outlet, forget a single circuit.

For the first few years the tank ran on 300+ watts of halide lighting and my kilowatt meter indicated that I was running - in total - just about exactly 600 W through the outlet.

Since switching to LED lighting and a Tunze 9410 skimmer, power usage is very relaxed.:D

( I have some extensive power info posted around here somewhere under my profile… I'll see if I can crosspost it here later.)

43g system

Everything is running on my APEX so it tells me max Amps, if it's correct.

Single 250w MH
2 15" xho reefbrites
eheim 1260 return
2 mp10w
deltec 1351 skimmer
led cabinet strip light
target fan for evap cooling
150w eheim heater

With everything running aside from the heater my tank draws 4 amps. Part of the reason I wanted a smaller tank was because of the power. My house is still on old fuses and we would have to nearly switch the entire house over to circuit breakers to fix the issue.
