Hi guys

Getting into the live feeding. Quick question- should I basically aim to go for as many different foods as possible?

I Already have nannochloropsis and Tigriopus copepod cultures going. I broadcast the Nanno to the tank and also use it to feed the Tigger pods.

Planning to add a secondary copepod culture- probably Apoc.

Planning to do Grindal worms, as well as hatch baby brine shrimp.

Given that- is it worth it to also add white worms, and buy in black worms? What about rotifers? Other suggestions?

I do plan on having several -maybe 4,5, - dragonets in my 180, but only when I think the copepod availability is good enough. Also building up a shoal if Dispar anthias, havevtwo fkadher wrasses and will be getting several gobys also.

Thanks for any advice!

The short answer to any “more variety” question is always yes!

The longer answer is don’t go in too fast and get to the point where culturing becomes a chore. The gag line among serious killifish keepers has always been “our hobby is not raising fish, it‘s breeding feeders“. My fish room looked like a high school science lab back in those days.

Grindal worms are great for smaller fish, but you eventually will want white or black worms if you want to feed larger fish. White worms are perfect for Mandarins as they will live a few days in the tank. I keep both on hand but I don’t try to culture the black worms. I just keep them in the fridge.
