I keep the back wall clean.

Only keep snails that clean the sand, and feed the fish Nori for vegetable matter.

Not at all. It will eventually become coralline.

i've never cleaned the back of any of my reefs. they're a solid wall of coralline.

I do not clean the back, only the 3 viewable sides as well.

I clean most of the coralline off the back glass just because I like a clean black background. I don't get much micro algae or cyano and don't have maintenance critters to feed.

If I could easily reach the back of my tank I'd clean it cause I like the look of a clean black background, but I can't so I don't. It's all coralline now.

I haven't cleaned the back of my tank (soft coral) since some neon green star polyps covered the back wall. I like the effect of it moving in the current.
