How many doses of Algaefix for Bubble Algae

I've started dosing Algaefix for my bubble algae. It doesn't seem to be doing much at all, and I'm on dose 4 (spaced 3 days apart). I'm not looking to change course, but curious if this was the typical outcome. Corals still look good, at least!

Perusing the forums, it seems bubble algae is often one of the last holdouts to algaecide treatments. Ymmv, but with Vibrant (which is pretty much the same) it required several consecutive weeks of treatment to eradicate. Sometimes it's faster. What may help is manual removal along with the treatment.

IMO, zero doses. Your best tool against bubble algae is manual removal.

Consider the possibility that the main activity of algaefix against some macro algae is to halt the growth, and not necessarily kill it.
It may halt the growth at a pretty low concentration and need considerably more doses to actually kill it - for some algae anyway.
Manual removal in that case would make everything work much better.

I've started to see a small reduction in it...but I think this is the right answer in my specific case. My Emeralds seem to be making a dent in it, now that it's not spreading like wildfire.

Soooo it pretty much crashed the ecosystem, it feels like. Dinos blew up, Algae came back eventually...it was a pretty big failure all around. I don't think I'll do this again.

Yea. This is the issue with chemical foxes as they hit the problem but most algae’s are already present in our systems.
I’m using it to irradiate bubble algae. Another option is pitho crabs. Otherwise I have no algae. Regarding the ecosystem. This is always interesting. Mainl being an algaecide I’m no sure it would impact bacteria. So I’m curious how it impacts the system. My friend had good luck with it. I’m slowly ramping up to monitor my sps. I will say. life rock enhance is an amazing product after you nuke a tank to get it back into balance. I do so after chemi clean or to start new tanks.
