how many fish for 30gl tank

one Inch of fish for 5 gallons...this means only 2 clown fish? wow...I really wanted 2 clowns 1 goby and a pistol shrimp..and one more small fish...is this doable ?

Yes that is doable if you have 2 clowns goby and one small fish it should work fine.

Depends on filtration, skimmer size, and bacteria load. You could definitely have more than 2 clownfish with proper filtration.

If you have have lots of live rock 4 fish for a 30 is not going to be that big of a bio load if all small fish. I had 3 small fish in a biocube 14 with no skimmer and I kept up on water changes and my water chemistry was fine. Skimmer will help though.

Don't add all at once though you need the bacteria in the rocks to build up after each new fish.
