hi I have a 90 litre display tank and was wondering what you think is the best number of fish I have 2 clownfish and a firefish but every time I buy a 4th one it always dies in a few months (although it has always been wrasses) so what do you think and if yes what fish do you recommend?

Just look after the fish you have that are surviving, obviously adding more is not working out for you or fish, it's alot easier to keep less fish and enjoy them for a long time, then adding more and enjoying them for a short time.
It's your aquarium:)

Clowns become the owner of smaller systems and may not like more agressive fish like wrasse, would see them as a threat. The firefish is shy and will stay away.
Try a Royal Gramma.

Ok thanks I think I will I have been looking after one for ages but when I first got the tank I got over excited and was stocking to much so sadly died after a year but think I’ll try it again what do you think about maybe a sand sifting goby?

The tank is too small for wrasses IMO. You probably could fit another small goby in there, I think a type of watchman goby would be good, they just hang out on the sand and dont move very much. Or a shrimp/goby pair would be fun.

The prob with sand sifting fish is they are very good sand cleaning to the point where, there’s not enough to support them long term. Deep sand beds on a mature system will work.

Had tank running for 2 years do you think that is good for long term support?

It’s 25g, so a relatively a small footprint in terms of micro-fauna.
A DBG would clean that in a week IMM. While it will take some frozen, it must filter the sand for its particular nourishment.

Maybe a YT which would not wander around, IDK, sometimes you gotta just toss the dice so to speak, I’m not sure if there’s a similar sifter which may not put a big strain on your sand.

Sand has a ton of surface area for biological processes so me, I want to keep the sand bed full and they keep my sand white.

I’m ok with the jawfish, no exp. with Midas.
There’s a potential for the firefish to get bugged by anyone as they are so timid.

yeah so mine used to be very timid before but to be fair now it stays out when I have my hand in the tank moving coral e.g and also comes up to my fingers idk how she/he got so tame!
