How many fish to add to cycled tank

Hi all

Once my 625 litre tank has finished cycling and is processing 2ppm of ammonia per day, what quantity of fish can I safely add?

I would start with 2 smaller fish from you stocking list trying to go from least agressive to most. Every 4 to 6 weeks adding more.

I agree with Dbichler. I would quarantine. Add peaceful fish first. Quarantine serves several purposes. The first is to have disease free fish. The second is to get the fish eating the food you offer greedily so they will not starve when put in the display where they will have to compete for food. And third, fish have moved through the supply chain and are beaten up. You want to fatten them up and get them through the stress.

As to how many fish, that depends. It depends on your husbandry, nutrient export, water flow, etc. It also depends on the fish. Dart fish are small and don’t eat much. While tangs tend to eat a bunch and get big. And then there are fish that are aggressive as all get out and kill everything else.
