How many gph for Aqua UV 57 Watt UV?

So I just purchased a 57 watt for my 250 gallon display. The AQUA UV flow chart does not makes sense. What type of gph am I shooting for control algae, clarify water and for disease prevention? Any help is appreciated!

They say;
A UV rated in the 30,000 or 45,000 µw/cm2 (EOL) is ideal for the reef environment. (Algae control)
UV’s used at higher kill rates will destroy the planktonic food supply for the reef.
A UV rated in the 75,000 or 90,000 µw/cm2 (EOL) will be the most effective at controlling fish disease.
SO:
Salt Water Sterilizer up to 355 gal tanks / Flowrate – 1066 gph for 90,000 µw/cm2

So for algae 2 x 1066 = 2100gph

That’s what I read too but it’s gotta be incorrect. Pentair 50 watt for same tank size is around 500 ish for level 2 I would never run 2100 gph on my sump can you image how loud that would be and the turbulence would only lead to micro bubbles in the dt

For the pentair UV, the flow rates are 260 and 1980 GPH for up to a 330 gallon tank.

I'm gonna say just like a water feed pump or a recirculating pump for say a reactor or skimmer....your gonna want 1-1.5x gph flow rate = volume.
?

Id hit up pentair or another uv fish tank filter maker and ask and make sure.
Fwiw it will effect dwell time only

It depends on what you are trying to control.

The faster rates will kill algae but not protozoa.
The slow rate will kill protozoa but wont help much with algae as the algae reproduces too quickly.

if you're looking at controlling Cryptocaryon Irritans (Marine Ich) you need a dosage of around 280,000 MJ/cm2 which is about 160gph for a Pentair 50W.
