Idk about others but dispite making sure all the powder is in the bottom of the packet and making a spout I still manage to spill. I never have the problem with the calcium reagent.

I haven't had any issue with them; I have however dumped them in at the wrong time or forgot to hold the button messing up the test.

I cut about 4-5 mm inside the dotted line after tapping the packet several times to settle the reagent in the bottom. Do this before you even collect your water sample. The funnel made easily fits inside the mouth of the testing cuvette. It should be difficult to spill any if you do it that way.

Only thing different from the video I do I'd the press the spout triangle togather so there is a crease or a track in the middle makes the powder flow straight down easier

How about the poof of powder lost simply opening the pouche? Convincing you to retest... Then after the 3rd test it's still showing zero amd you know its the leftover/lost powder skewing things. Are you kidding me??

New poll, how many times have you cussed out your Hanna checker?

It is sort of a pain I think, I just take my time and try and make sure there's no wrinkles in the packet to catch the powder so it flows out good.
You'd think they would try and make a smaller package so you don't lose powder on the sides of such a large package.

That's not how my reagent pouches are marked and not how I cut them. Mine have a rounded mark and I shorten it even more. It makes the funnel much smaller/shorter and easier to get in the mouth of the vial.

It would be best if they sell the reagent in a small bottle with a measure scoop like many selifert and red sea kits have. This way it measured and easy to get powder put and place in vials. I bet cost probably will be same or less for hanna to produce.
Now I am not sure of reagent exposed to air by opening closing many times.

When speaking to a representative on the phone a few weeks ago he did mention that it's not expected all powder from the packet will make it in in that Hanna had accounted for that in design of the units

I am,sure that's true

Terrible design but easily overcome. Don't try and pour from the packet, you cant get it all out nor will it all go in the vile. Fold a piece of paper in half and form a hard crease. Empty the entire packet contents on to the crease and simply tip it in. The point of the paper goes nicely into vile top so it cant get out.

Phosphate checker?? Where is that in my spare equipment? Oh yea I know, it is only to be seen when I am looking for something else because I never look for phosphate checker. Tank full of hair algae- zero - phosphate. Got rid of hair algae -zero- phosphate.
