I have a 65 gallon reef tank. Dimensions are 36"x18"x24" (LxWxH).
I was wondering how many AI Hydra 26 I need?

Well that completely depends on what your goals are in that box of water!
SPS I would say no less than 3, fish only and a few softies and you should be fine with 2. Edited post, I thought you had the 52..

Are you keeping coral? The Hydras have pretty low par I can’t imagine how low it would go in a 24” tank. I had 2 in a 16” deep tank and I had to switch because I was not getting enough light at the bottom. Many people have great reviews about them though im just curious if they would work in a tank that deep. I had 1 every 12” just for thought.

How about one Hydra 52?

I know of several people running 2 26 HD on larger tanks than a 36" long tank and are growing SPS without issue. I run 2 26HD with hybrid T5 on my 134.5 Waterbox and get well over 200 on the sand directly under the Hydras

@jsker 72 BF is one of them

Maybe depends on rock work livestock and if you keep anything on the sand. For fish it will work. Give it a try, you can always add another one later or upgrade to a better light
