Hi everyone,
I'm upgrading to a 75 gallon this weekend from a 29. I have a cleaner shrimp, a peppermint shrimp, and like 6 grass/feeder shrimp. I got a CUC from reef cleaners with hermits so I have a handful of tiny hermits running around, and have a halloween hermit, and another... 'ordinary' looking hermit from the New Jersey coast. I also have 2 or 3 crabs, also from the coast no clue what they are but they're in the sump until I figure it out.

I really like all of the inverts, I like watching them swim and wander around and I don't think watching a snail eating on the glass will ever get old. I don't mind feeding the tank a bit extra when the fish are in there and I feed the tank now to keep them going.

LFS is having a sale soon, I want to be able to get maybe another shrimp, I think urchins are super cool, I'd love to have a starfish. I know that some of these are critters that I shouldn't get until a tank is more established so they don't starve particularly the starfish, but I want to get an idea of what I could get so I could go into the big flashy sale with a plan and not just impulse buy a bunch of things.

Note- I'm not going to get any spider crabs, or coral banded shrimp because they look too much like spiders according to my mom. I also don't know if I'm going to be getting a watchman goby or a different kind of goby so not sure if I'll be getting a pistol shrimp or not, probably not though.

As long as your feeding then I don’t you have a problem here’s my list on my 75g
2xcleaners shrimps
2xblood shrimps
2xporceline crabs one white one blue
2x peppermint
1 coral bandit
1 Pom Pom
1 emerald crab
2x conch snails (THE BEST SAND SHIFTERS) just between us shhh
5-7x Nasarius snails(2nd best sand shifters)
4-5x Blue leg hermits
1 red leg hermit
2-3 margarita snails
2xhuge turbo snails
2xhuge Astreas snails
2-3-4 stomalia snails(hitch hickers didn’t but these)

Now I see tons of tiny baby astreas and stomalias or at least I Tank they are

I might be missing some if I am I love all my inverts the same!!!!!!

On a side note I have 15 fishes and feed them a ton of crap to avoid the fighting between my fishes and hermits they are brutal and keep my No3 up

Oh almost forgot my long spine urchins he was a bad boy he’s In the sump likes to carry my frags around smh but been in my sump for months probably feasting on detritus

Oh fun! I’m glad to hear that someone else feels the same. I tend to get the impression that a lot of people consider them for cleanup but not much more.

The pomp pomp and porcelain are fun to watch especially when I feed reefroid they go on fast forward and my shrimps clean my fish and my hand when I’m doing maintenance is therapeutic lol

That’s great haha I had my hand in there today probably way longer than I should have because I was just watching my cleaner shrimp have a blast picking at them. Maybe I shouldn’t let them get a taste for human flesh... [emoji848]
I think a Crab is next on my list but I think a nice selection of shrimp would be fun. Also I know decorator crabs can mess with stuff but it still sounds pretty fun to see a frag wandering around

I would love a harlequin shrimp but they are divas with that feeding habit

my inverts are:
green finger leather
green toadstool leather
pulse coral
cats eye coral
blasto frag
zoas
zoa slugs (ugh)
brown sea squirt (hitchhiker)
palys (hitchhikers)
3 pistol shrimps (hitchhikers)
red tuxedo urchin (hitchhiker)
coral banded shrimp
bunch of different snails (hitchhikers)
2 trochus
5 green hermits

all doing well in 120l with 2 clowns and a sixline

You have a lot of neat hitchhikers there, where'd you get your rock?

if they have enough room and food theres really no limit for inverts (except cephalopods. they are messy buggers)

its great barrier reef rock. its great
was actually gonna buy a tuxedo urchin. i kid you not the same day i found the lil guy on the rocks. i forgot to mention a transparent cucumber (also a hitchhiker) probs gonna get some fromia stars once i got enough microfauna.

I LOVE CEPHALOPODS
OCTOPUSES ARE GREAT (or is it octopi, octopodes, UGH)
Absolutely they're awesome but in no way would I be prepared to ever take care of one.

they do need a lot of space, a really powerful filter, lots of live food and toys.

I can only imagine, I think I'll just keep reminding myself of the stories of them escaping from aquariums like the one that figured out how to kill the power and escape. Amazing creatures but I think for now the live cams on the apple tv app will have to do.
