I'm getting a sweet deal on 4 kessil a160we units with controller link cables and kessil brackets. My question is can I get away with 3 or will I need all 4 as I currently have 2 dsuny units for a year and corals are opening and happy but no real growth except favia and softies I'm asking because I'd like to run one on my biocube that has a ugly black box over it and kills me on power bill.

Also getting complete package only a few months old for $500 I believe this is a great deal any thought also suggestion on placement as my tank has center brace and center shadowing will probably bug me if I go with 3 lights instead of 4

For $500, pick up 2 Kessil a360WE.

Thought of that also but with all that comes with package new would be about $1400 and has controller and all mounting hardware with brackets that hide wires also done committed to the deal but ya I love the a360we and prob will be adding a few when I upgrade to 5ft 150 in summer

So sorry I got a head of myself and forgot to post that it's going over a standard 90 gallon 48x18x24
4 Kessil A160 on that tank will work well. Run 2 on each side of your brace. You should have nice coverage. Par should be adequate for softies and lps and maybe sps in the center and half way up or higher (my best guess). Obviously a par meter would be best if you're doing sps so you can fine tune your intensity and identify placement areas. Mounting height of your unit can make more of a hot spot on the kessil A160 relative to the A360we, as the 160s have a bit less wide of a lens angle (but the kessil A160 are much less power)

Well picked up kessil and everything today havnt hooked up controller yet but here is picture excuse tank Its maintenance

I think the 160 is a better option for a 18” wide tank than the 360 anyhow. Three would probably suffice, but four won’t hurt. I run four 160 on my 60x18x26 120XH. No trouble growing SPS.

I ended up putting 3 over 90 gallon and one over biocube all is happy and rose bubble tips are happier than ever and they are near bottom

Those are fine for everything except higher demanding SPS and some clams.

I have one agro and it and everything happier than ever also fixed my spotty
Algea problem as last led must of had wrong spectrum or wasn't as strong as I thought

I have two on my 36 bow front. I only have a couple Zoa frags and a leather. They’re doing good. I can’t go over 30% on intensity thought. Algae starts to be a problem. Wish somebody could test these lights.

So far I'm on 60% max on my controller and 80% max on center over sps and no algea as I had alil from old lights red spectrum but went away after getting kessil lighting
