Hey guys so i have a typical 4ft 75 gallon rimmed tank with a center brace ( which i hate now. I have 2 kessil a360x and was planning on adding 2 more on each side of the brace. Have any of you tried that? I know billy pipes on youtube has done that with his 4 radion xr15 on his 75 gallon. For now T5 fixtures are not an option to me due to the fact that i cant hang them from ceiling and cant drill on the wall.

I have 3 on my 90g ..but it's a braced tank ...more than enough on my tank..tank is 120 x 50 x 60 cm

How do you use 3 on a center brace?
It's got 2 braces

Ahhh thats why lol my 75 gallon just has 1 brace right smack in the middle sadly lol

Mixed reef? Sps dominate? The great thing about the 360x's design is that it's made to be mounted pretty low to the water, which works in your favor. I think if you go 4, then you're covered.

Its a mixed reef, just now started adding some sps. I slowly want to keep more sps.

Out of curiosity what are you running them at? Are you 50%, 75%, 100%? Less? Another option without increasing the number of lights is by increasing the power. The 360x's put out a lot of light and have a really good spread. Can be raised while also being closer to the water surface than any other on the market. So you have options.

If you are just starting out with a couple test frags maybe the safe play is watch how they grow? That is, after all, why they are test frats. This way you can adjust power / intensity if you have room.

The light spread is so wide anything above 5in of the water line means light spill into the room.

2 would work well. 4 will be much better. I have 6 and an ap700 (so basically 8 over my 200g which is 4x3 feet footprint. I love it just like it is btw. And if one goes out, its not a panic to hurry and replace it because everything will be just fine.

I've had two die on me in the last year and have been running kessil for 3 years maybe. All of the ones I bought used, not even one was bought new. And just recently I found kessil offered me brand new replacements at 209 each, which is slightly less than I paid for used ones!

Id be interested to know what others run theirs at ..

As of now im running them at %70 and getting about 200 PAR on the upper rockwork and about 120 on the substrate.
