In the picture I have 2 Radion xr30 pro G4 on a tank that's 30"

I have a third G4 Radion for when my new tank from Planet Aquariums gets delivered. 60"x28x24

I'm debating on getting a fourth Radion for the new tank but I'm not sure if it's necessary. With 3 I can space them out a little, but with 4 it's gonna be tight like it is on my 30" w/ 2 of them.

Thoughts?

Three would be just fine. 4 is overkill in any situation I can think of. You don't even need two XR30s on a 30" tank unless its all acros lol. Even then it may not be necessary

It depends on how much coverage you want. More lights , less shadows.

It's not about power in this case. You could grow coral with two of them.

Instead of placing each fixture horizontally (pucks of each fixture oriented side to side) like in your 30" tank, on your new tank, with the 60" length and 28" front to back span, I'd go with the four XR30s, but with each fixture oriented perpendicularly (pucks oriented from front to back). That would you give you some incredible coverage and shadow reduction, were you to go with an all out SPS tank.

That's a good point. Personally I like shadows because they look more natural and allow me to place lower light corals into the tank since my system is SPS and softie dominated at the moment
